Those appearing successful will now advance into the viva round, expected to begin from January 26, for qualifying for a government job – still among the largest employment sectors. Earlier, a total of 12,033 aspirants qualified in the preliminary result of the 34th BCS published in July last year. Jobseekers claimed that the prevailing quota system got in the way of many talented students. They went for agitation compelling the commission to reconsider the result. On July 14 this year, a record number of 46,250 candidates passed in the reconsidered results. It was said all the previous successful candidates were included in the result. However, 280 candidates from the ethnic minority who were included the first time alleged they were left out in the results published in the second time. The High Court, moved by a petition, later ordered the commission to include those candidates in the results and the written tests
